CineBuzz
Project Overview
CineBuzz is a mobile app concept designed to solve the fragmented movie information landscape — where users jump between apps and sites to find release dates, trending content, reviews, and news. My goal was to create a single, visually compelling, and personalized platform that blends discovery, engagement, and planning.

DISCOVER
People want ease, not information overload.
Movie fans are passionate but overwhelmed:
Information is scattered across platforms (e.g., sites for reviews, calendars, social buzz).
Users want recommendations tailored to their tastes.
Visually compelling content drives interest but is inconsistently presented.
Research Insights
To discover core user needs, I reviewed competitor experiences and common habits of film‑enthusiasts. Users expressed that current tools feel disjointed and passive — they want active discovery. This phase focused on diverging into broad understanding before narrowing down specific insights.
DEFINE
Methods
Movie fans need one intuitive app that:
Brings relevant movie information together.
Offers personalized recommendations.
Provides an engaging place to explore trends and plan viewing.
This led to clear design direction and a defined challenge:
How might we make discovering and staying updated on movies easier, more enjoyable, and more personal?
DEVELOP
Featured Concepts
Personalized Feed: A neural‑style algorithm that adapts based on user interactions and preferences.
Trending Spotlight: A carousel highlighting buzzworthy or socially trending films.
Movie Calendar: At‑a‑glance view of upcoming content with release dates.
Search & Filtering: Easy discovery by genre, mood, or popularity.
Sketches & Wireframes
Early wireframes focused on:
A simplified layout for quick browsing.
Clear visual hierarchy with imagery front and center.
Key interaction zones for personalized recommendations and trending content.
WIREFRAMES & PROTOTYPING
Prototypes were developed in Figma to test navigation flows:
Home → Trending → Details
Feed → Personal Recommendations
Calendar → Upcoming Releases
Testing with peers led to refinements in hierarchy and iconography for better clarity and scan‑ability. These iterations helped converge on a final design solution.

Takeaways
CineBuzz is more than a concept — it’s a holistic mobile product solution that solves a real pain point for cinema audiences. This case study demonstrates your product design thinking approach from divergence to convergence, ideation to delivery — aligned with industry‑standard frameworks and real user needs
CineBuzz was a comprehensive exercise in product design, and through it, I learned:
The importance of user-centered research: Insights from user behavior and preferences were essential to defining the right features and prioritizing content.
How to structure a project using the Double Diamond framework: Moving deliberately through Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver helped ensure every decision was informed and purposeful.
Iterative design and prototyping: Early wireframes and interactive prototypes allowed me to test ideas quickly, refine layouts, and improve usability before finalizing designs.
Balancing visual appeal with functionality: Crafting a cinematic aesthetic while keeping the interface clear and intuitive reinforced the importance of thoughtful visual hierarchy and typography.
Feature prioritization: Learning which elements (personalized feed, trending content, calendar) truly added value helped me focus on solutions that addressed user needs effectively.
Overall, this project strengthened my skills in product thinking, UX/UI strategy, and design problem-solving, while reinforcing the value of combining research, creativity, and testing to deliver a cohesive digital experience.
