Momento Feature Improvement

Project Overview
Momento delivers rich experiences for sports fans (schedules, game details, attendance history), but lacks equivalent tools for music fans — particularly around tracking and exploring upcoming concerts. My goal was to identify key gaps in the music experience and design enhanced features to create parity with the sports side of the app, increasing engagement and consistency.

DISCOVER
Context & Challenge
Momento supports detailed sports tracking but offers limited functionality for music fans.
Users can favorite artists but don’t have ways to discover upcoming events, setlists, or deep concert details.
Research Insights
Users expect event details, notifications, and tracking features for any interest category.
Inconsistent experiences across sports vs. music create confusion and reduce engagement.
Competitive exploration revealed that specialized music/event apps provide richer engagement loops.
DEFINE
Problem Statement
Music fans using Momento cannot access the same level of event tracking and engagement tools as sports fans, which:
Reduces perceived value of the app for music-centric users
Creates an inconsistent user experience across the product
Limits opportunities for ongoing user engagement
Design Goals
Provide parity between sports and music event experiences
Design features that feel natural within the existing UI structure
Help users discover, track, and engage with music events before, during, and after concerts
DEVELOP
Concept A — Parity & Familiarity
Mirrors the existing sports experience structure
Lists upcoming concerts with date, venue, and location
Allows tap-through to deeper concert details
Strengths: Familiar to existing users, low friction learning curve, consistent interaction patterns.

This concept also takes pieces from other areas of the app to create a more cohesive and user-friendly experience. Therefore not introducing unknown, confusing, or inconsistent elements.

Concept B — Enhanced Visual Engagement
Builds upon Concept A with stronger UI polish
Emphasizes accessibility (larger type, clear contrast)
Adds more visual and emotional appeal
Strengths: Better emotional engagement, elevated visual experience

Fans can intuitively track both sports and music in a way that feels engaging, personalized, and modern.
Users can see a list of events happening based on their favorited artists.
When events are selected the artists becomes highlighted and the set lists becomes visible.

To enhance the music fan experience by keeping users informed and excited about upcoming shows from their favorited artists—just like sports fans receive score and game alerts.
These notifications would include:
Shows starting soon
Show starting
Surprise guest appearances
And other hype moments

REFLECTION
Through Concept A, I demonstrated how I can work within an existing design system—respecting established patterns, structure, and visual language—while still delivering added value and feature parity for music fans.
Concept B pushed me creatively. I designed a fully reimagined experience that emphasizes personalization, modularity, and visual distinction between concerts and games. This concept gave me the freedom to explore my own ideas, build components from the ground up, and think more deeply about how layout, interactivity, and hierarchy influence user behavior.
Ultimately, this project helped me grow both as a strategic thinker and a visual storyteller, and I’m excited to bring that same mindset to future design challenges.
